“How can cultural or tech festivals boost a Made in India project?”
There exist many platforms and programs for creators to boost their projects in the AVGC sector.
We will have with us two representatives from the gaming and animation industry who will share their journey and experiences of showcasing their projects at events and festivals across the globe and how it benefited their projects. They will also share their out-of-the-box approach to revenue generation and funding for their projects.
Rhea Gupte, Creative Director, Game Designer and Writer, imissmyfriends.studio, Goa, and Award-winning independent filmmaker Abhishek Verma will share their experience and journey with us.
The session will be moderated by Chaitanya Chinchlikar, VP – Whistling Woods International.
Rhea Gupte is a multi-disciplinary artist based in Goa, whose body of work spans across art, photography, graphic design, creative direction and writing. At imissmyfriends.studio, an indie game studio, she works as a narrative writer, designer and creative director. The first title from the studio, Fishbowl, currently in development, has received a lot of love from the gaming community through its selection in events like Wholesome Direct, Dames for Games Showcase, BitSummit Japan and Gamescom, Cologne. It has also been featured in international gaming publications such as Rock Paper Shotgun, IGN Japan, Tokyo Weekender, Games Radar and the Video Game Chronicle.
Abhishek Verma is a passionate individual who excels in animation, filmmaking, and animation screenwriting. He is a design graduate from IDC, IIT Bombay & holds a degree in Liberal arts with a Young India fellowship. Abhishek teaches writing, animation, and pre-production at IIT Bombay & IIIT Jabalpur. His animation film, Maacher Jhol, has been awarded the National Film Award for Best Animator and Director. Furthermore, his film received high acclaim from the CESAR French Film Academy, earning the distinction of being the best film from India in 2019 and an award at Annecy in 2017.
Chaitanya Chinchlikar has had a multi-faceted 2-decade career in the Film, Media & Entertainment industry. He is currently at Whistling Woods International – India’s premier Film & Creative Arts institute, in the capacity of Vice President & Business Head. He also serves as the Chief Technology Officer for the institute and heads its Emerging Media initiatives.
