Call for Projects Now Open
International MIFA Campus 2027
Mumbai || 22 to 26 February 2027

The International MIFA Campus returns to India for its 4th edition. Five Indian animation projects in development will be selected for a 5 day workshop in Mumbai with mentors from MIFA Annecy, pitch at the AniMela Pitch, and present at Namaste Mifa: India’s Partner Pitch at the Annecy Festival in June 2027.

Who can apply
Directors and producers with short films, feature films, TV series or specials in development, where at least 50% of the finished project is animation. Student projects are not eligible.

AniMela is proud to introduce its inaugural South Asia Competition for student and professional animated short films. This new section celebrates the diversity, creativity, and strength of voices from across the region, and these 26 films reflect the richness and range of South Asian animation. We’re delighted to share the Official Selection for 2026.

FESTIVAL JURY

AniMela is delighted to announce the juries for the 2026 South Asia Film Competition. This year’s official six-member panel brings together two juries: the South Asia Student Jury, comprising Prakash Moorthy, Cédric Pilot, and Lotte Marie Allen, and the South Asia Jury, comprising Shilpa Ranade, Monisha Advani, and Gaëtan Trigot.

AniMela, India’s global international festival dedicated to Animation, VFX, Gaming, Comics, and XR, is returning for an exciting third edition at the Whistling Woods International, Mumbai, from 19th to 22nd February, 2026. Namaste Mifa: India's Partner Pitch

Discover the Bold New Voice of Indian Animation! Eight incredible creators bring to life six fresh, unforgettable stories that reflect the energy and diversity of modern India. These are contemporary tales—vibrant, edgy, and thought-provoking—with their hearts grounded in the rituals, traditions, and rhythms that have shaped India for centuries. From striking visuals to emotionally rich storytelling, each project offers a unique lens on what it means to be Indian today—where the old and the new don’t just coexist, they inspire.

ANIMELA 2025

An initiative by the Aniverse & Visual Arts Foundation (AVAF), Animela had its second edition from March 7-9, at the IDC, IIT Bombay, Mumbai. AniMela’s goal is to promote talent and exhibit world class films and showcase artistic and technological reflection in the AVGC-XR space.
