AniMela is proud to introduce its inaugural South Asia Competition for student and professional animated short films. This new section celebrates the diversity, creativity, and strength of voices from across the region, and these 26 films reflect the richness and range of South Asian animation. FESTIVAL JURY
AniMela is delighted to announce the juries for the 2026 South Asia Film Competition. This year’s official six-member panel brings together two juries: the South Asia Student Jury, comprising Prakash Moorthy, Cédric Pilot, and Lotte Marie Allen, and the South Asia Jury, comprising Shilpa Ranade, Monisha Advani, and Gaëtan Trigot.

ANIMELA 2025
An initiative by the Aniverse & Visual Arts Foundation (AVAF), Animela had its second edition from March 7-9, at the IDC, IIT Bombay, Mumbai. AniMela’s goal is to promote talent and exhibit world class films and showcase artistic and technological reflection in the AVGC-XR space.
